Student Group Travel Guidance
Based upon current guidance from the federal government Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the university has announced its policies related to student group travel to ensure the safety and well-being of the campus community.
Information about the guidance is available on the Student Group Travel Guidance website. Please review this information in its entirety.
How does this apply to student groups using funds managed by SORC?
- Travel is only allowed within Maryland and to Metro services areas within Washington, DC and Virginia.
- Domestic Travel (within the United States) will only be approved for essential purposes. Travel is considered essential if it is required as part of an academic class/and or university sponsored program.
- SORC staff will be the final determinant as to whether requested travel meets the criteria for being considered essential.
- International Travel is not permissible using SORC funds.
For more information on submitting travel requests on behalf of your student group and/or using your group's SGA or Self-Generated Revenue funds for travel-related expenses, please refer to the Travel section of our website or the SORC Finance Manual (see link below).
