How do I make a reservation?
Email terpzone@umd.edu with your event date, time, and area request. All requests must be made at least 3 business days in advance.
Can I make same-day reservations?
TerpZone does not accept same day reservation request.
Can I make a weekend reservation in the summer when TerpZone is closed?
Yes, however, there are requirements:
- 2 hour minimum
- Events must be between 12pm - 6pm (TerpZone Summer Hours)
- Minimum fee requirement

Can I make a reservation request outside of posted open hours?
Yes, however a $50/hour staffing fee will be applied to the rental invoice (not applicable to Students/Student Organizations)
What is the Activities Room? Can it be reserved?
The Activities Room, located between TerpZone and Studio A, is an open floor-plan space with laminate flooring, a floor to ceiling mirror wall, and a house sounds system. The Activities Room can be reserved by emailing terpzone@umd.edu.
Do I have to wear bowling shoes?
Yes, we require all participants to wear bowling shoes in order to ensure safety at all time.
Do shoe rentals come with bowling reservations?
Yes, bowling shoes are included when you make a reservation at the TerpZone.
Can I use my personal bowling ball and shoes?
Yes. Please note that TerpZone is not liable for any damage to personal items. Bowl with your own ball at your own risk.
Does the TerpZone have any specials?
We have ½ price bowling, billiards and games from 12 to 4 p.m. everyday!
How many lanes does the TerpZone have?
8 lanes.
How many players can play on one lane?
8 people maximum per lane.
Does the TerpZone have bumper bowling?
Yes, we are able to put up bumpers for children upon request.
How many billiards tables does the TerpZone have?
10 tables.
Does the TerpZone have food?
We have snacks, such as drinks, candy and chips.
What gaming consoles does the TerpZone have?
PlayStation, Nintendo Switch.
Is TerpZone open in the summer?
Yes, we are open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Do I have to be a student to utilize TerpZone services?
No, TerpZone is open to students, faculty/staff, and the public.
Can I purchase socks at the TerpZone?
Yes, socks are available for $2.
Can we bring food to our TerpZone Reservation?
You may have food at your event, however it must be provided by one of the STAMP Vendors or UMD Catering. Please visit the catering page for more information.
How early should I arrive to my reservation?
Please arrive 10 minutes early to allow our staff to get your lanes and/or tables ready so your party can start on time.
What can I do other than bowl or play billiards?
The TerpZone has a Lounge Area with two 120" Projection Screen TVs & four 50" TVs, and four TVs with Video Game Consoles
What is cosmic bowling?
Friday and Saturday Nights TerpZone transforms with neon bowling ping, lively music, and black lights.
Can I rent a locker for the night?
No, locker rentals are per semester for UMD students.
