We encourage students to visit the Thrive Center for resources!

The University continually evolves to ensure our services remain responsive and effective for all students. From those in foster care or experiencing homelessness, to undocumented students, to those facing food insecurity and relying on the Campus Pantry—we serve everyone. These values are unwavering. To better reflect the breadth of support we provide, some websites and services have been realigned to our new Thrive Center.

As part of the Dean of Students Office, the Thrive Center for Essential Needs team is committed to providing comprehensive care and support, and helping all Terps get connected to the services and resources they need to overcome challenges and thrive in their academic and personal endeavors at UMD. Visit the Thrive Center website to learn more about the assistance and guidance we provide and to connect with a staff member. Students can also contact the Dean of Students Office at 301.314.8484 or email deanofstudents@umd.edu

Legal Aid for Immigration Issues

The Undergraduate and Graduate Legal Aid offices at UMD offer free, confidential 30-minute consultations with an immigration attorney for currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students with immigration-related concerns. Please note, however, that this service does not include legal representation. Visit the Legal Aid website for more information and to schedule a virtual appointment.
