Veteran Student Life
Mission Statement
To build and maintain a community of veteran and military-connected students, staff, faculty, and alumni at the University of Maryland that collectively supports the transition from military life to civilian college. Together, the community provides opportunities for development along the 8 Dimensions of Wellness throughout the UMD experience empowering students to develop a renewed sense of purpose and significance during and after their time at the University of Maryland.

About Veteran Student Life
The University of Maryland is a Center of Excellence for Veteran Student Success (CEVSS) and received a generous grant through the FIPSE to further address the academic, financial, physical, and social needs of student Veterans on campus through the U.S. Department of Education.
The University of Maryland recognizes the extraordinary contributions of members of our armed services and we understand the unique challenges of transitioning into a university environment. We are committed to providing an environment that helps veterans pursue their academic and personal goals, explore different learning experiences, and get involved in campus life. Through Veteran Student Life, we offer a hub for resources that serves veterans and military-connected students, staff, and faculty on campus.

Veteran Center Access Request
The temporary Veterans Center is located in Le Frak Hall, Rm 2123. Come spend time with each other while on campus, get a free cup of coffee, use our computers and print for free, or study. You can get access to the Veteran Center by going to stamp.umd.edu/VetCenter and completing the form.
