Finals have you feeling anxious? Need to de-stress? We have crafts, meditation sessions, free food, quiet study spaces and more to help you keep your cool as you prepare for your exams.

April 21st: Road to Art Attack

Noon - 10pm | Grand Ballroom (Stamp Student Union - First floor) 

Host: Student Entertainment Events (SEE)

Description: Join us for our Road To Art Attack Event! We will have our On The Record record decorating event from 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm so swing by to relax and get your craft on! Then from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm we will have our #2016Rewind event featuring slime making and fun challenges where you can win amazing prizes! And then to wrap it up, we will have our Battle of the DJs from 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm, where you can win the chance to open for Fetty Wap at this year's Art Attack 42!

April 29th: Free HIV Testing

1pm-3pm | University Health Center – Ground Floor

Host: University Health Center

Description: This event will be held on the ground floor of the University Health Center. You will meet in a private room with an HIV testing counselor from Heart to Hand who will conduct a quick finger prick to draw a drop of blood and then deliver your results within a few minutes. The free HIV testing is available to students and non-students. Free safer sex giveaways and sexual health resources will be available.

April 30th - Stillness in Motion: Labyrinth Meditation Series

Noon-1pm | Garden of Reflection and Remembrance

Host: University Health Center & Memorial Chapel

Description: Meet at the Garden of Reflection and Remembrance at the Memorial Chapel for a guided meditation, mindful labyrinth journey, and a free lunch on a first come first serve basis. In the event of rain the program will be moved inside to the Garden Chapel.

Description: Explore meditation, mindfulness and grounding practices with staff from the University Health Center. Whether you are new to meditation or looking to deepen your practice, these sessions provide space for you to pause and connect with yourself while discovering the many benefits of meditation and mindfulness. These are free drop-in sessions, and you may attend as frequently as you like.

Host: University Health Center, Health Promotion & Wellness Services

Description: Wags for Wellness is an Animal Assisted Activity, featuring well trained and highly skilled volunteer pups from our partner organization People. Animals. Love. (PAL), all of whom provide love, connection, companionship, and stress relief to the campus community.

May 5th: Paint n’ Sip in the Memorial Chapel Gardens

3:00pm-5:00pm | Memorial Chapel Gardens 

Host: Memorial Chapel

Description: Finals season is here and it is more important than ever to take time to center, meditate, and connect with yourself to stay well. Take a break from studying to drop in at the Memorial Chapel Gardens for some freestyle meditative painting, springtime beverages, and reflection. Art supplies and beverages provided at no cost.

May 7th: TOCSL Study Session

Host: Transfer and Off-Campus Student Life

Description: Prepare for finals with us! We'll have a quiet space with snacks and coffee to help you lock in alongside other transfer and off-campus students.

May 7th: Spring into Stamp Cyanotypes

3pm-5pm | Activities Room (Studio A - Stamp Student Union)

Host: Studio A

Description: Join Studio A to make a Cyanotype print- a type of light sensitive print that turns out vividly blue in the sun against any objects you press to the paper. All supplies will be provided though participants are welcome to bring additional items to create their own piece of art!

May 7th: Paint Night

7pm-9pm | Studio A (Stamp Student Union) 

Host: Studio A

Description: Join Studio A for a paint night. Sessions are $10 for students, $12 for faculty/staff, and $15 for the general public and include an 8x10 canvas, paint, and brushes. We hope to see you there!

May 8th: Rest and Reflect: A Social Wellness Event 

11am-3pm | Multiple locations 

Host: Graduate School

Description: Join us on Friday, May 8, 2026 for the Rest and Reflect Social Wellness Event on Tawes Plaza.

This is a chance to engage in restorative practices that encourage rest and reflection while also building meaningful community connections. The day-long event will include yoga, a sound bath, dancing, food and other activities in a relaxed and welcoming environment!

The event is open to the entire UMD community including graduate students, undergraduate students, postdocs, faculty and staff at UMD as well as across the USM.

Host: CARE to Stop Violence

Description: Need a reset before finals? Join us for a Self-Care Creative Space on Wednesday, May 13th, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

We will discuss self-care and boundary-setting strategies to help you stay grounded during finals season. Participants will have the opportunity to make their own self-care kits; all materials will be provided.
