 Bria Bennett is a native of Philadelphia, PA.  She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Florida A&M University and earned her Master’s degree in Strategic Communications from LaSalle University. Prior to joining UMD, she worked as the Community Partnership Coordinator for the Towson University Athletics Department supporting enrichment programs for student-athletes and serving as the community liaison for the department and the University. As the new TOCSL Coordinator, Bria is excited to create memorable experiences and to promote a sense of community for the first generation, transfer and off-campus population. In Bria’s spare time she loves all things fitness-related, traveling, and being a foodie exploring different cuisines with friends.

Fatima is a Masters student studying International Relations here at UMD. Fatima also did her Bachelor's degree at UMD, and was both a transfer and off-campus student (from Frederick Community College). She is a community organizer who organizes around social justice issues and cares deeply about making the world a better place for humanity. As the new GA for TOCSL, Fatima is excited to create engaging and fulfilling activities for transfer and off-campus students. When Fatima is not studying, you can find her writing both poetry and fiction. Fatima also likes to look at the stars (her minor was in astronomy!), spend time in nature (yay mountains and waterfalls), and work on her podcast!
