DR. MARY SCHMIDT CAMPBELL - LECTURE & BOOK SIGNING | 7:00pm | David C. Driskell Center 

Mary Schmidt Campbell, Ph.D. is the 10th President of Spelman College and Dean Emerita of the Tisch School of the Arts and served as the Vice Chair of the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities under former President Barack Obama, Dr. Campbell is author of “An American Odyssey: The Life and Work of Romare Bearden” (2018) from Oxford University Press which received the 2018 Hooks National Book Award from the Benjamin L. Hooks Institute for Social Change at the University of Memphis. Campbell’s book offers a full and complete retrospective on the life and work of Romare Bearden.

Uplift is designed to build an inclusive fitness community to help empower women and under-represented identities in the weight rooms. Come out and join RecWell personal trainers very Saturday from 9 – 11am for an open lift where you’re free to ask questions and learn the benefits of lifting weights.

Join Graduate Student Life and the Office of Graduate Diversity and Inclusion for our Social Justice Lunch Series in the Graduate Student Lounge. There will be a facilitated discussion and hands-on craft activity related to impostor syndrome. Participants will walk away with some strategies on how to overcome impostor syndrome and build confidence. Free food and snacks provided for all participants while supplies last.
