GSL Late Nights
Grad Lounge Late Nights take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 5PM-8PM. During this time, the lounge will remain open past business hours for GradTerps who want a space to relax, eat dinner, socialize, and get some work done!
Wind Down Wednesdays
Wind Down Wednesdays (WDW) are held every other Wednesday at 5pm in the Graduate Student Lounge. These include GSL Game Nights which are a chance to meet other grads and have some fun along the way. We have Jenga, Connect 4, checkers and many more games to choose from. You're also free to bring your own! If you have suggestions for other games we can play, email them to us at firstname.lastname@example.org. WDW also includes Craft Nights in collaboration with Studio A which are a great time to get lost in a new project and engage your imagination. Even if you don't consider yourself to be creative, you'll be surprised with what you can do with the support of fellow GradTerps and the Studio A team.
GSL City Meetup
GSL organizes various city meetups in the DMV area for GradTerps. These are mostly free, Metro-accessible events. In the past, we had meetups to visit DC museums, ice skating in College Park, watch a show at the Clarice Performing Art Center, attend free events at Kennedy Center, enjoy happy hour at a local Brewery, etc. You're welcome to bring your family and friends to join in the fun!
GSL Monthly Social Series (MSS) is exactly as it sounds! It's a fun social gathering of GradTerps to to attend cool events all over the DMV area at a subsidized price. Join us for great deals on amazing shows at the Kennedy Center, sporting events like Wizards or D.C. United games, and many more fun happenings. To stay up-to-date on these events be sure to subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook!

Food For Thought Book Club is currently on hiatus but we hope to resume in Spring 2022.
The Graduate Student Life book club is intended to create space for graduate students at UMD to learn and engage in dialogue around issues and stories that matter. GSL provides a limited number of free copies of the book of the month to students who sign up. That copy is yours to keep. Registration typically opens 2 weeks prior and are announced on the GSL Newsletter and social platforms. Each book will be followed by a dialogue session at the end of that month. You do not need to complete the entire book by the time the dialogue session takes place. If you have any questions about the book club or book suggestions, feel free to email us at email@example.com with the subject line "GSL Book Club.
