Juried by Dr. Jason Kass

College Park, MD. The Stamp Gallery is pleased to present the 2024 Juried Student Exhibition, an annual display of artwork created by University of Maryland students. The included artworks were carefully selected by a guest juror from a large pool of anonymous submissions by students across campus. Featuring Hannah Chen, Kaitlin Dan, Jasmine Hall, Tom Hill, Vainavi Gambhir, Jasjot Kaur Gill, Krista Goettel, Sydney Grant, Casey Kenreich, Yu-ling Lai and Tzuyu Jeng, Neal Machado, Aakriti Sapkota, John L. Stock, Chase Thompson, Kurt Wass, and Sophia Winner.

Dr. Jason Kass is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Art at the University of Maryland College Park, where he teaches both art theory and practice. He is a 2024-2025 Arts for All Faculty Fellow at UMD and working on a project that explores how the general population engages with contemporary art.

Juror Statement

“I approached the role of juror with a curiosity towards what the university’s student-artists have been thinking about and making recently. I encountered a diversity of artworks that are materially and conceptually reflective of the experiences and points of view of this group of emerging creatives. While each work was unique, I couldn’t help but notice some recurring themes including the passing of time, personal struggle, and the natural world. I was only able to recommend a small fraction for inclusion in the exhibition but want to congratulate all who submitted work and thank them for their continued commitment to their artistic practices.”
