PLEASE SUBMIT TO: stampgallery@umd.edu
The Stamp Student Union Gallery announces a call for curatorial project or exhibition proposals by University of Maryland students and student groups for our Summer 2023 exhibition season. Previous student-curated exhibitions can be seen on our website at stamp.umd.edu/stamp_gallery.
Proposals should be for exhibitions showcasing emerging contemporary artists. Stamp Gallery will provide a modest honoraria for artists included, installation assistance for in-person exhibitions, marketing support, and support for virtual programming such as a virtual talk or web component. Student curators will receive an honorarium of $200. Student curators will be responsible for communicating with the artists, overseeing install and de-install, and writing the press release, with the assistance of the Stamp Gallery Manager. If accepted, student curators will have the opportunity to solicit calls for entry for the exhibition or reach out to artists of interest with the support of the Stamp Gallery staff.
Proposals are open to all University of Maryland students who are currently enrolled or have an expected graduation in academic year 2022-2023. Any questions about the submission guidelines can be directed to stampgallery@umd.edu.
