Black Student Involvement
About Us
Black Student Involvement supports and creates community through our advisement of students and student organizations, who self-identify as being a part of the African Diaspora, and promotes opportunities for leadership and civic engagement. The unit advocates for the educational, social, and cultural needs of students through peer and faculty-staff mentoring.
For more information about getting involved, feel free to contact our office at mica-office@umd.edu.

The Black Monologues
The Black Monologues are designed to give students, staff and faculty an opportunity to share their stories through the performance of spoken word poetry, monologues and poetry reading. The program will give audience members an opportunity to enjoy a night of poetry, community, food and relaxation while also stimulating important dialogue surrounding identity and the Black experience.
