About Us

The Office of Multicultural Involvement and Community Advocacy supports and advocates for our campus' historically marginalized communities by providing opportunities and spaces that affirm identities, build inclusive communities among diverse members, and create social change - locally, nationally and globally.

Our Mission

MICA serves all students and educates them on issues related to disability, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, religion, and their intersections. All of MICA's activities, programs, and services strive to achieve the common outcome of developing committed citizens who can lead and thrive.

Philosophy

We support ALL STUDENTS at the University of Maryland through our work which focuses on:

  • providing opportunities and spaces for all students that affirm identities
  • building inclusive communities among diverse members
  • creating social change - locally, nationally and globally.

The Multicultural Involvement & Community Advocacy [MICA] Office, in addition to other co-curricular educational activities, also offers credited coursework.
