Pottery Studio Information:
The Studio A Pottery Studio consists of two rooms, a wheel throwing room and handbuilding studio. Studio A has 9 wheels, including one accessible wheel. Class or open studio registration includes studio access, kiln firings, use of glazes and tools. Students must purchase clay from studio a; no outside clay or glazes may be brought in. All studio users must sign the Studio Contract, which can be viewed here. The Studio A Pottery Studio is not meant for mass production or creating products for resale, instead we give our members the freedom to experiment with their crafts, learn, and explore new artistic possibilities.
Pottery Classes:
Pottery classes are taught by practicing artists and include all materials needed for the class unless otherwise specified in the course description.
Ceramics Open Studio:
Ceramics open studio is available for individuals with former ceramics experience who are not currently enrolled in any studio classes. The studio is open to students during any open Studio A hours where there is not a class in session. This studio time allows time for students to experiment and work individually without the oversight of an instructor or the atmosphere of a formal class. Registration includes access to studios outside of class times, access to tools in the studio, use of glazes, and firing. Studio users must have prior experience in pottery and will have to go through a studio orientation with the technicians before using the studio.
