Can I register for TOTUS if I am a Freshman?

Yes!

Do I need to have prior creative writing, poetry, or public speaking experience?

No! In fact, most students who take the course have never written or performed poetry.

How does TOTUS differ from my other classes?

Totus is a small 12-15 person community in which every person contributes. There are no textbooks or tests.

Each week we spend 1/2 the class discussing social justice readings and half the class working on our writing and performances.

How many credits is TOTUS?

TOTUS is currently 1 credit

Will I have to perform?

Yes, but it will be in a supportive and positive atmosphere with your peers. We will spend time in class practicing and preparing.
