In November 2021, President Pines announced to the campus community the creation of cultural centers aligned with the university’s “collective goal to ensure that every campus community member feels welcomed and affirmed and experiences a sense of belonging at the University of Maryland”. Our goal is to create a vibrant, welcoming, centrally-located facility to support five cultural centers that supporting the success of and promote a sense of belonging for students who identify with the Latinx, Native & Indigenous, Disability, Multi-racial Biracial, and Asian Pacific Islander Desi American communities at the University of Maryland. Feedback from each community is crucial to making these cultural centers a success.
We are excited to invite you to join us for the virtual design forums for these cultural centers. Below are the design forum times for each cultural center:
- NAI Cultural Center - Monday, October 17 at 4pm
- Disability Cultural Center - Tuesday, October 18 at 3pm
- Latinx Cultural Center - Tuesday, October 18 at 6:30pm
- Multiracial Cultural Center - Thursday, October 20 at 3pm
- APIDA Cultural Center - Thursday, October 20 at 5pm
