This semester, we are excited to offer 4 unique tracks of TLI:
TLI Introductory Track: Intro engages with concepts like leadership styles, ethics, identity, collaboration and communication to develop increased understanding of the sequential nature of leadership -- self-leadership, effective teamwork, and ultimately practicing socially responsible leadership in one’s community. Perfect for emerging leaders!

TLI for College Park Scholars Track: Uniquely for the College Park Scholars Living-Learning Program, this introduction to leadership will allow students to develop their personal leadership styles amidst a Scholars-specific context. Students will explore all topics in the Introduction to Leadership Track, but with emphasis on real-life application in the College Park Scholars community.
TLI Plus Track: Designed for those who have previous exposure to leadership theory, styles, and experiences, the TLI Plus track is beneficial for students who are currently in such a position, or who are seeking to take one on in the future. Topics include:
- Effective Leadership
- Shadow Strengths and Weaknesses
- Power in Positional Leadership
- Conflict Management
- Failure, Responsibility and Ownership
TLI Student Organization Track (NEW!) (5 weeks): Having trouble motivating your members? Not sure how to translate your leadership skills to your organization? This track is designed specifically for you! Over five weeks, you will participate in hands-on activities and critical dialogue with a small group of peers. This track focuses on organizational dynamics and development centered around structural, relational, and cultural aspects of student organizations. Perfect for student organization leaders looking to lead and develop their organization. Topics covered over the course of the program include the following:
- Assessing Your Organization
- Structure & Leadership Styles
- Motivation & Enabling Others
- Decision Making & Delegation
- Organization Vision & Culture
***NOTE: Participants MUST currently hold a leadership position for an on-campus student organization to register for this track.
TLI sessions will be facilitated by student leaders in the Maryland LEAD program and will take place in various rooms within the Stamp Student Union and the Cambridge Community Center (for the College Park Scholars Program). All locations will be announced once registration has closed.
